As some of you may be aware, we continue to
experience some difficulties with transportation routes and
related issues. I have asked the Transportation Department
to begin to configure an alternate routing scheme for routes that
simply don't conform to appropriate time parameters. Once this
has been completed by the Interim Director in collaboration with the
district's drivers (a hybrid between what was in the past and what
was designed for our use this year), I will make a general
announcement to all parents regarding a date certain that all new
changes will be implemented. What is working will be left
alone and what is not will be addressed as best as we possibly can
after considering many of our unique features as a district.
Prior to this happening, parents of every child will receive an
individual letter mailed to their homes. This letter will
outline the pick-up and drop-off information regardless of whether
it has been impacted by any new changes. I thank you for your
patience as we work to address the outstanding isues we know about
in the area of transportation.
The Project Graduation Fundraising
Committee will once again be offering a chance to order
wrapping paper. The brochures will be sent home at the end of
August and will need to be returned by September 17th. There
will be a collection box in the office for students to drop off
their envelopes or you may bring them to Open House. The
success of Project Graduation every year is dependant upon this
fundraiser and we are grateful for the support of the
community. We will continue with the recycling fundraiser so
please look for the green bins in all of RSD 17 schools and consider
donating used cell phones, ink jet cartridges, digital cameras,
etc. Any questions, feel free to contact Kathy Strom,
345-3398 or KSSTROM@aol.com. Updates will be added to
the Project Graduation link on the district website. Thank
You.
